I’m Going Outside

I hope you are all keeping well. It probably goes without saying that making music hasn’t been much of a priority over the last few months. However, I did manage to get round to recording this ….

I’m Going Outside was written and recorded over the Easter weekend of 2020, in the midst of the UK’s Coronavirus lockdown. Consequently, it’s slow and not much happens. The “outdoor” sounds were gathered by sticking a microphone out the window of the room where I recorded it. So, I have to confess that I didn’t actually go outside during the making of this.

Since finishing this track, I have been scratching my head with what to do with it. I know there have been numerous compilations of music recorded during lockdown that have come out over the last few months, but somehow either I missed their submission deadlines, or this didn’t quite fit the remit of what they were after. I did consider keeping this aside for some sort of future EP, but in the end, thought it best to put it out there now, whilst it still remains topical.
